Ok, let's talk about next season.
I was too close to leave. But AnimalMan convinced me and the AWF will live on, at least one more season. But with some changes that I will write down here.
1- Shows will remain in the same days, but both will be confirmed on Saturdays.
For example: next week we have shows October 7th and October 11th, right? Well, both shows will be written and confirmed on October 4th.
That means that any segment that you want to write must be handed to me before Saturday at 12:00 GMT.
2- More organized storylines. I'll write down some specifications so you can attach to them to keep the rivalries going. The Sub Forum "Rivalries" shall rise again.
3- Segment instructions. This is a VERY important one. I need the segments to be written with an specific format so I can copy/paste them without correcting every single line (not the grammar, the format). I believe that shows must have an style, not a bunch of words written differently because they were written by different people.
So, when you write something for a show, I need you to follow this instructions:
a) Every single name, championship or finisher must be written
BOLD.
b) No " " at the beginning of a sentence.
c) When you are not writing a dialog, you must use "--" and
ItalicHere you have an example with your favorite hosts, Joe and Don.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don Ringside: Good evening and welcome to the first edition of
How to write an AWF Segment!! Here with me is my example partner,
Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan!
Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan: Hi, Don. And hi,
AWF Wrestlers! It's a pleasure to finally be able to talk to you. The point of this example is to show all of you how to write perfect segments so they are easily pasted on the shows!
Don, let's start.
Don Ringside: Ok. First of all, always remember capitalization. If you are saying
AWF World Heavyweight Championship, the three words start with capital leters. And, since it's a
Championship, it's also written in Bold.
Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan: Dialogues are the most important part of our segments, but there are some little things that escape from our control, those things are the actions.
Don Ringside: Yes they are. And to show it to our wrestlers, I'll make a call so we can see something.
--Blackdoom's music hits-- Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan: That's exactly what I was talking about. Italic words are actions, not dialogue! And, when something like that happens, we almost always get inter--
Blackdoom: Interrupted. Yes,
Joe. And when you are interrupted, those "--" must appear at the end of your line so everyone notices that, not only you, hehe.
Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan: That ain't very funny, boss. Wait! You are forgetting about something incredibly important!
Blackdoom: What?
Joe "Lucky Rabbit" Brennan: Spacing!! Every text line must be separated by 8 spaces from the previous one, like this example that you are showing to the
AWF wrestlers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well... Now here is something I want to offer you: do you want to reset all the storylines and begin with brand new ones? Or do you want to keep with the current ones?
Take your time and think about it, you have two weeks to decide about that. And, once you decide that, we will talk about splitting the roster in two different brands.
I think it's enough for now.
Talk you later.
Blackdoom.
